Favorite Things

I am starting a new page here at two traveling sisters, a Favorite Things page where I can post items I find on the web, things I have purchased or anything that catches my eye and i think, I really love that!

Some fun new ideas for summer that I found on the web:

Tablecloth weights in the shape of picnic ants

Star plates, perfect for a July 4th party.

A beautiful bright Adirondack chair!

These outdoor seats are called drum stools and are perfect for the garden.

I have some lanterns in the garden already but these bright beauties would make an excellent addition.

This little chair is not for outdoors but I just loved the upholstery.  It’s perfect for a screened in porch or quiet corner of the house.

These candle holders/lanterns are so pretty.  I love the ribbed pattern of the glass.

I love this chair.  It is so bright and colorful, it makes me think of Spring!

How sweet are these little lambs…made out of burlap and twine.

What I love about the above clips are the vintage illustrations and messages.  I think they are replicas from old easter cards.

Favorite Christmas item this year!  This adorable egg cup that I purchased for my hubby.  It’s a Beefeater, those are the guards that watch over the Tower of London and the crown jewels.  Sooo cute!

Here are some fun ideas for entertaining in the Halloween theme.  Page borrowed from Susan Branch.  I love the way she illustrates her blog pages.  In case you are not familiar with Susan Branch, she is a very talented writer/illustrator.  I love her style of art.  If you are interested in seeing more of her work visit her site: susanbranch.com.

I have been a fan of hers for years and have most of her cookbooks.  She has the domestic bliss thing down pat.

I have used real twigs for caramel apples for the boys and their friends. (#4 on the list above, right side)  It is an easy way to make the treat a little more Halloweeny.  Is that a word? No, I think not but going with it anyway.  You know what I mean. 🙂

Christmas Crackers
I love christmas crackers!  I purchase some every year and have one at each place setting during christmas dinner.  The ones pictured here can be found on the Williams-Sonoma website.

Tiny pinecone candle holders
